Egypt's decision on the selection of Africa in the Third Ministerial Conference of middle-income countries

 Started work yesterday, the International Ministerial Conference for the third middle-income countries, held in the Namibian capital of Windhoek for two days, the conference will discuss the development of middle-income countries and the most important challenges they face in light of the new international changes, as well as the international community's role in supporting these countries to achieve further development and play a role Effectively in the international arena. Chose Egypt conference scheduled for a conference on Africa alongside the State of Indonesia which will be scheduled for Asia.

The conference discussed ways to move the development efforts of middle-income countries and commitments of the international community to support these efforts and the role of international institutions and regional development to finance the construction and infrastructure development in middle-income countries and how to provide concessional financing and ways to support and increase the competitive middle-income countries as well as the role of energy resources to achieve development Sustainable in these countries.

It also discusses the global food crisis and how to overcome their negative impact on development efforts in those countries as well as a vision of middle-income developing countries the post in 2015 and expected to face major challenges in achieving the Millennium Development Goals.

Participants in the conference, foreign ministers of middle-income as well as heads of a number of international development institutions like the World Bank and African Development Bank and Asian Development Bank and FAO. Headed the Egyptian delegation at the conference, Ambassador Fathi Al-Shazli, Minister Counsellor of international cooperation where the floor opening of the meeting to discuss Repercussions of global food crisis and its effects on middle-income countries.

It is expected to pass on the Conference Declaration and the ministerial decision in addition to an action plan to be submitted during the sixty-eighth session of the UN General Assembly next September.

The basic idea of the conference came from the initiative presented by Egypt in 2004 to the World Bank and has already begun holding a workshop resulted in the idea of the Ministerial Conference was held Ministerial Conferences I and II in both Spain and El Salvador in March and October 2007 respectively, A conference in March last hosted by Egypt to discuss ways of supporting middle-income countries and the challenges it faces.
